Meowmy enjoys surfing Etsy for anything and everything Siamese related and pretty much scoops up anything really cool (she has a computer bag, manicure pillow, etc.) Sometimes we ask people to make things meezer related and always get happy crafters to oblige! We had this made for a blurpy and thought others who are as meezer obsessed as Meowmy might be interested. We had the wonderful lady at BB's for Babies come up with the design and did an amazing job! Meezer Lovey And if you would rather tigger kitties, horses, or monkeys, or bunnies- she makes them all!

One year ago...

One year ago today we lost our dear Furry Fighter, Storm. While we've gained and lost so many friends over the years Storm was just one of those extra special friends. She fought cancer twice and survived so much longer than expected.

She inspired so much in us, but especially inspired our humans to buy us pet insurance. We want to be prepared in the event that one of us develops something like Storm had and we want to fight but the cost is just too daunting. Pet insurance is fairly common in the UK but here in the US (for cats especially) it isn't well known. For as little as $100/year you can find plans to protect you. We aren't paid to say this, we just think it is a very valuable thing to consider if it is affordable for your famliy. The three of us are insured but our big horse sister is not as it is not cost effective. We speak from experience (when Kaze tried to choke herself) that the peace of mind for not having to worry about the costs makes emergencies just that little bit less stressful.

We miss our friend Storm dearly and something we always try to do when we loose a friend to the Bridge is to do someting in life to recognize the passing of our friends. We'll never forget Storm for showing us that to battle is true bravery and we feel her watching over us.

Meezer Rule and Colors Wednesday

Hi efurryone!! I'm sorry that I haf been absent lately. Our the mom has just let us down terribly. I will make shur that she gets out all of the invitations to join Simply Siamese as posters this weekend.

Our furriends Egypt and the Muskateers, founders of Meezer Rule Wednesday, haf announced Meezer Colors Day for this year. Last year it was a great success, and this year we can all do our posts right here on Simply Siamese!!! Start thinking about your colors - somefing to match your eyes or points or furs, or somefing that will contrast and make your eyes really pop, or your points really shine, or your furs really look fawny or beigey.

The rules for Meezer Colors Day are fairly straightforward:

You must be a meezer, meezer bun, honorary meezer, or a feline living with or related to a meezer. A person pretending to be a cat, a meezer, or dressed in a cat suit does not count.
You may use objects or whatever else is handy to highlight your meezer colors.
Photoshop enhancements are limited to brightness/contrast adjustments, resizing, red-eye reduction, and background scenes. If you adjust the colors of your background scenes, make sure it does not turn the color of your furs, points, and eyes to an unusual color.
Please mark Wednesday, June 10, 2009 on your calendars for Meezer Colors Day.
